Meet Jane Marquard
Richard and | started Paysage in 1985, sold it in 2015, and created Maison Mason back home in Rocky River. We have loved the “home” business every day for almost 38 years! I love warmth, textures, mixes of woods and styles. I want the room to feel comfy and functional. I love working some my client’s preexisting pieces so it retains their character. And | adore aged elements that add so much character to a space. My influences are Rose Tarlow for her weathered wood

Jesse has an artistic flair. Within the family he is the younger talent, but don’t let that fool you. Customers can attest that Jesse is confident in aiding families to find the perfect products that satisfy need. Being a man full of love, trust and dependability, you can always find Jesse putting others before himself.

I also love Nancy Braithwaite for her use of black with cream, aged finishes, and humor in design. I use a more neutral palette for my clients with pops of natural colors to create a serene space, without forgetting the kids and the dogs. I still love doing design today as much as | did when we started 38 years ago!

My style of design is sophisticated eclectic. I am influenced by the organic style of Isabel Lopez Quesada, of Spain taking the new and the old, modern and traditional, along with the garden, stringing it all together to create a beautiful environment to live peacefully. Others that have influenced my style are Furlow Gatewood from Americus Georgia and Kathryn Ireland, from London, two different designers, from far
ends of the earth, yet create incredible spaces with a combination of fabrics and furniture styles. Each with an organic embrace. I typically start with a neutral palette for upholstered furniture pieces, unless it is a fantastic old piece that you love, let’s reupholster it in
a fun patterned fabric, which I love to do. Adding color with pillows, artwork, wall color, wallpaper. Love wallpaper! I mix textures from the floor up. Sisal carpets layered with heirloom rugs or sustainably foraged hides. Stone, marble and terra cotta tiles add wonderful warmth and it is great to find vintage tiles to work in any room. I love blue and white Qinghua porcelain pottery. I feel it is neutral in any design setting, paired with fresh greenery, it is stunning. Wood accessories work into any room, such as trays, bowls, screens, and candlesticks. Lighting styles can range anywhere from old School house to contemporary depending on the room. Task to ambience can be achieved.
